The OSP Engineer will be familiar with OSP design and planning, construction, and have the ability to perform cost analysis to determine the most cost effective and efficient manner of the placement of communications facilities.

Job description

The Outside-Plant Engineer plays a prominent role within the Telecom Industry. The primary responsibility of an OSP Engineer revolves around the construction and maintenance of plant infrastructure, design, permitting and engineering as well as providing a route analysis of underground & aerial fiber optic installations.

Requirements:

  • Ensure engineering/design activities comply with company and contract requirements and support overall construction schedule
  • Provide technical support for construction, including participation in construction planning sessions
  • Support the development or acquisition of applications to facilitate field reporting, as-builds, records reporting including inspections, bills of materials, and progress tracking
  • Assist in the development and implementation of field computer applications to facilitate the control and collection of data for mapping (gps)(gis)(kmz)
  • Coordinate with the professional services firm(s) to assure completeness and correctness of design and construction documents
  • Ensure that engineering deliverables are compatible with client’s requirements

Additional:

  • Minimum five years of project experience. Two (+) years in telecom preferred

Job description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for management of large-scale wireless infrastructure projects for new site build and modifications to existing facilities. Responsible for fostering customer relationships, growing new business, managing budgets, project timelines, goals, internal staff, and external vendors in accordance with existing contract terms and conditions. Accountable for achieving project milestones and revenue for all assigned projects. The Senior Project Manager will manage cross-functional teams of professional, technical, site acquisition and construction employees/subcontractors through numerous project milestones to project completion and in compliance with established processes and policies established by the company, the client, and regulatory agencies. Work is performed with minimal direction and reviewed by senior management. The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

  • This position will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of the wireless tower industry including environmental/FAA/FCC compliance, leasing, planning, and construction management
  • Must follow, interpret, and communicate all safty rules per OSHA standards.
  • Manage large scale projects that include multiple disciplines or cover multiple markets
  • Manage all project activities including but not limited to, site acquisition, leasing, due diligence, zoning, pre-construction services, architectural and engineering services, permitting, internal pre- deployment meetings, client deployment meetings, utility coordination, material ordering, construction management, Field scheduling, field safety and quality, fleet and crew readiness, vendor (sub-contractor) management, and closeout packages
  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Oversee the activity associated with projects. Interface with clients and management on a daily basis as to the status of these projects. Ensure workflow is being achieved and milestones are being reached in a timely fashion. Provide management direction, supervision, and leadership for the Project Team and Construction Team including tower crew personnell. Insure the successful completion of all project deliverables, and contract compliance
  • Create and maintain strong Client relations and communication
  • Interpret contracts, communicate scope of work to project team and develop schedule and budget forecasts
  • Conduct Weekly meetings with project staff to review individual site progress; Oversee project tracking and documentation
  • Maintain proper communications and relations with project personnel; coordinate internal resources and ensure the team has competent personnel to accomplish their respective duties
  • Minimizes our exposure and risk on project
  • Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors

  • Operating a construction machine, i.e machine for directional boring (HDD machine).
  • Performing excavation work and transporting a certain amount of soil according to the order of the immediate supervisor.
  • Taking care of the correctness of the machinery – cleaning, lubrication and general maintenance of the machine.
  • Controlling the complete equipment on the machine and the machine itself.
  • Checking of the safety of the machine before starting to work and adhere to all measures in the field of safety and health at work.

  • Assist in the loading/unloading of equipment and supplies needed for daily work assignments, setting-up of worksite traffic and safety controls and properly securing work area.
