Roaming Networks Inc, a member of the Roaming Networks Group, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, has been operating in the US market since 2018. More than 50 employees have been working daily in the field across the US for three years (Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts and Texas). They provide services in the field of radio communications, RR networks and passive optical networks, and some of their most important partners over the past three years are: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Nokia, Motorola and Ericsson.
The 5G revolution is underway!
Project Manager, Nikola Miljakovic, explains for The Serbian Mirror:
“The demands of new technologies, such as a reliable network with faster information flow, less latency and the ability to interconnect multiple devices such as sensors and IoT equipment, dictate the need to build a 5G network and modernize existing systems. This means that it is necessary to modernize the existing networks and provide appropriate equipment that supports 5G. An installation Tower Technician is a position that is very important in the process of building and maintaining a 5G network and carries with it a high level of responsibility and commitment.”
He adds that for this position it is desirable, but not necessary, to have one of the “climbing” certificates, such as C&R (Climbing and Rescue), OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, as well as certificates for working with certain types of equipment from manufacturers like: Ericsson, Nokia, NEC, Aviat, Cisco, and the like.
A working day that provides a sense of freedom
Four years ago, Aleksandar Milojković began working at Roaming Networks as an installation technician at high altitudes, where he gained experience in the field in Serbia and throughout the region. He has been working in United Statesfor the past year and here is how he describes his working day for The Serbian Mirror:
“Safety is paramount. Prior to starting work, we check the protective equipment – harnesses, carabiners, straps and all other parts of the equipment whose use is prescribed by the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations (OSHA). We go out in the field with a clearly defined plan and a task that we need to complete. ”
Aleksandar graduated in Serbia from a electrical program at vocational technical high school, and his hobby is mountain climbing. He loves extreme sports, so working at heights is not an imposition for him, but rather a challenge.
“Unlike in European countries, doing the job of a Tower Technician in the US is more physically challenging. The towers can be upwards of 600 feet high, and with the equipment and tools, we sometimes climb for 40 minutes to get to the top of the pole. But, when we get to the top – that feeling of freedom is priceless,“ he claims.
For this kind of work, teamwork and good relationships between colleagues are of great importance.
“Younger colleagues always learn from the veterans. You can’t learn everything that happens in the field at school. Our teams are composed of competent people, from whom much can be learned about this job. Some of them have over a quarter of a century of work experience in more than 10 different countries around the world. I learn something new every day, I visit places that I would not otherwise have the opportunity to see if I had another job, and we often, after a successful task, continue to hang out outside of work,” Aleksandar concludes his story.
Expansive growth and high market demand for Roaming Networks Inc. services make new colleagues always welcome. The position of an Installation Technician at High Altitudes is open, and you can see all the details and information here.
